Laura has had an interest in animals (particularly dogs) and their workings for as long as she can remember. She got into dog training after getting a yellow Labrador retriever, Sadie, in 2009. Sadie has some problems with anxiety and Laura learned a lot about training and behaviour from working through those issues. Together they have dabbled in a variety of dog sports and activities, most recently competitive obedience.
At the clinic, Laura helps to make sure that administrative tasks are done in order to allow our veterinary staff to focus on the rehabilitation. She enjoys getting to see the patients improve from week to week!
In her spare time, Laura works with another yellow beastie — Mabel the Haflinger pony. They are looking forward to show season this summer, in between hacks in the woods with Sadie. Laura also enjoys spending time with her surrogate dog, Tuggy the Jack Russell terrier.
