About

Meet our Staff

Elizabeth Pask
PhD, DVM, CCRP

After graduating with a PhD in nutrition and toxicology in 2010, I began a journey to fulfill a life-long passion of animal medicine.  In 2014, I graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Ontario Veterinary College, having developed a passion for dog sports and rehabilitation medicine a long time before that.

Julie Dorney
BSc, RVT, CCRP

Julie completed her undergraduate Biological Science degree at the University of Guelph before finishing her veterinary technology associate degree through Cedar Valley College in Texas.  She is also a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) through the University of Tennessee and is currently working towards her certification as a Canine Fitness Trainer (CCFT).  Julie worked in Guelph at a busy local practice/emergency clinic for 10 years before joining Dr. Pask at Gilmour Road Veterinary Service to pursue her interest in rehabilitation.

Mary Barrett
Practice Manager

Mary has worked in animal care since childhood with her grandfather, who owned one of Canada’s premier gun dog breeding and training facilities.  She owned her first dog, a Labrador retriever named Tuffy, at age 8 and has loved and cared for many dogs since then.  Mary, and her partner Mark, breed and train Golden Retrievers under the Tidewater prefix.  She lives with 5 Golden Retrievers…and a very bossy cat.

Laura Allen
Office Associate

Laura has had an interest in animals (particularly dogs) and their workings for as long as she can remember.  She got into dog training after getting a yellow Labrador retriever, Sadie, in 2009.  Sadie has some problems with anxiety and Laura learned a lot about training and behaviour from working through those issues.  Together they have dabbled in a variety of dog sports and activities, most recently competitive obedience.
